The group formed in 2011 when Vocalist Xu Bo met guitarist Wang Bo, followed by the additions of bassist Li Lixin in 2012 and drummer Zhen Zili in 2016, solidifying the current lineup.

In 2019, Chinese Football were special guests on Midwest emo legends American Football’s tour of China, a pairing that got worldwide attention. North America will be a triumphant capstone to a busy year, as Chinese Football celebrates over a decade of music and finally reaches their fans around the world.

Inspired by late 1990s pioneers like Fugazi, Get Up Kids and American Football, Chinese Football specializes in a potent guitar-bass-driven wistful indie rock sound.
